I was hit with a whopper of a migraine on Sunday afternoon. It was the kind of migraine where noise and light are the enemy. After almost 14 hours of sleep, the dreaded companion was still lurking around the edges of my head. By Monday evening things were beginning to get back to normal, at least in the brain pain area. Tuesday things were going along well until about 2 PM when the headache returned full force. It is now early Wednesday morning. I am up because I forgot to take my restless leg medication last night and my legs are not letting me sleep. The headache is again lurking around the fringes of my brain but at least I can stand the glow of the computer monitor long enough to chat with here for a minute or two.

Either you or one of the older children sneak out to hubby’s vehicle after he comes home from work and clean the inside of his windows. Make sure to leave them streak free.

On a card, paper or in the “I love you” journal write the word Christmas vertically down the left side of the page. For the next 4 weeks take 2 letters a week (except for the last week then you will have to do 3) and write words starting with those letters that describe your husband. Try to do 2 or 3 per letter.
The Nutcracker Ballet we attended Friday night was a “home-grown” production this year. It was shortened in some spots, most notably the opening scene. DGD#1, who had seen it two years ago done by a ballet company, noticed the omission immediately. DGD#2 also noticed the changes concerning the breaking of the Nutcracker and the appearance of the Prince in the later acts. (We read the Nutcracker book that I have several times in preparation for attending the ballet.) Other than those glaring discrepancies the evening was again mesmerizing. DGD#2′s favorites of the evening were The Sugar Plum Fairy and Dew Drop. DGD#1 liked it all.
Tonight my very dear friend, Joanne, who also happens to be 4 of my grandchildren’s other grandma, and I take the oldest granddaughters, ages 8 & 5, to see the Nutcracker Ballet. The oldest granddaughter saw it for the first time 2 years ago. Now it is DGD#2′s turn for the first time delight in a book come to life. As with the first granddughter I expect Joanne’s and my fascination to be the faces of the girls and not so much the production. The anticipation is building in Grammy’s heart.

My DH is under tremendous stress right now. I am noticing an increased need for cuddling, hand holding and just plain touching. The kind of stress he is under right now tends to deplete his “love tank”. To refill this tank takes encouraging words, to counter the criticism, and lots and lots of touch such as kisses, hugs, hand-holding and cuddling.
Dress #1 is finished!! Because the patten only went to a size 8 and DGD #1 needed a 10 from shoulders to waist I had to make new pattern pieces. I have never done this before. I was concerned the whole time I sewed the dress that it wasn’t going to fit. So I had to try it on her today for my and her Momma’s piece of mind. It fits just the way it should! DGD#1 loves the dress. Happy dance was done at least twice today.

Is there a “tradition” that you used to do in the earlier years of your marriage that your husband really enjoyed that has fallen by the way side? Revive it.
Since the last daily chat entry the “Christmas Insanity” had some additions.
1. Due to illness, I am now the director of the play portion of our Christmas Cantata, An Old Fashioned Christmas. Ah, the perks of being the choir director’s wife.
2. A long skirt needed to be made for the principle character of the play.
